About
Ms. Camille
Hello and welcome!
Thank you for your interest in my studio! I wouldn't be able to do what I love every day without the support of dedicated parents and students like you. As a piano teacher, music therapist, and musician, I understand how important it is to find the right teacher to meet each student's individual needs and goals. My mission is to enrich as many lives as possible through music by staying flexible and patient with each unique student while making learning engaging and enjoyable. I strive to not only build lifelong skills, but to build a love of music and expression.
My Background
I was born and raised in San Jose, CA where I studied piano since I was 4 years old years, performing in recitals, auditions, exams and local and international competitions. I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from San Jose State University in 2011 and have been teaching piano since 2010. Alongside teaching piano to students of all ages and abilities, I am a music therapist and am currently completing my master’s degree in music therapy at the University of the Pacific. During my training, I have completed fieldwork in special needs classrooms, nursing homes, oncology departments, and psychiatric facilities. As a music therapist I have worked many years with hospice patients and their families and since 2015 I have taught many students with a wide range of needs.
Teaching Philosophy
As a piano teacher, my goal goes beyond teaching notes and technique, I strive to nurture a deep, lasting connection between each student and music. I want my students to experience the same joy and expression that music has given me throughout my life. Whether they are playing a simple melody or a challenging piece, my hope is that music becomes a meaningful outlet for them, one that brings creativity, curiosity, comfort, and joy. My teaching is rooted in patience, encouragement, and a genuine desire to help every student discover their own musical voice. I believe that when students feel supported and inspired, they can develop not only skill, but also a lifelong love and appreciation for music.
